Adult educators’ ict skills first, adult learners’ skills second – Strategic Partnership For Older People’s Inclusion Into The Digital World

The project is focused on the incorporation of ICT tools into older adult education, both teaching and learning. In adult education programs ICT tools are badly needed meeting a variety of learners’ needs; to develop written and oral communication skills, to impact communicative competence, to collect, generate and disseminate information. ICT integrated activities together with the use of instant messaging tools and media improve older learners’ oral and written proficiency, cognitive and cultural skills, simultaneously decreasing the digital divide. Slovenska univerza za tretje življenjsko obdobje sodeluje v projektu SPIDW – Strateško partnerstvo za vključevanje starejših v digitalni svet(link is external), ki spodbuja digitalizacijo izobraževanja starejših. Partnerji v projektu smo se nazadnje v živo srečali septembra lansko leto v Ljubljani na izobraževanju o vizualni pismenosti in dokumentarnih filmih. Strategic Partnership for Older People’s Inclusion into the Digital World (SPIDW)

The Strategic Partnership for Older People’s Inclusion into the Digital World (SPIDW) project was implemented in the period from 01/10/2018 to 31/12/2020 within the Erasmus + programme by seven partner organizations from Germany, Slovenia, Portugal, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland and Slovakia, which are very well aware that in the age of digitalisation, the development of ICT skills of older people has great importance. The current pandemic situation that arose during the implementation of the project also pointed out that the education of seniors in the field of digital technologies is inevitable. READ MORE>>

SPIDW (link is external) has been about including older learners in the digital world and in a film school set up by AidLearn Lisbon. LearnersMot (link is external) is about understanding the phenomenon of functional literacy and motivating the poorly educated and the lowly qualified (DomSpain, Spain). The project now has a sequel, LearnersMot2. Timeless (link is external) (Usak University) creates e-books for learning English and learning about cultural heritage. All these Erasmus+ projects and many others used blended learning to promote multimodal learning. MORE>>
